CHALLENGES / REPOSTS / MEET-UPS
// Photo-Walk Alert! \\
Join us and #TakeYour5hot as we go around Downtown Miami capturing the current photo theme "Window Reflections". We'll be meeting in front of the iconic Miami Tower on Sunday, March 4th, at 1:00PM! See map below! (Background photo taken by: @claudiagomezph)
MONTHLY PHOTO CHALLENGE
You are challenged with capturing a photo incorporating the bi-weekly theme in a creative way. Everyone who submits, by tagging @MIAshooters and #TakeYour5hot, will be reposted to our instagram. You must post photo to your feed for us to be able to repost to our profile.
This is our way of supporting the local/underground/upcoming community and culture of photographers; primarily beginners. The #TakeYour5hot Challenge is a way to put your eye to the test in capturing, perhaps, a type of photo you've never shot before; exploring new techniques and ultimately developing new skills. We will repost everyone who tags us, as long as its the monthly theme.
Think of a "live version" of the #TakeYour5hot Challenge where we'd have a theme or desired shot we're aiming for... okay? With a host or hosts chosen for each meet-up which will be a "pro" at capturing the event's theme so we can learn basics and techniques... right? And these will be either photo-walks or meet-ups at a certain location... you follow me? And the best shots that are product of the event get reposted on @MIAshooters Instagram... right? And then everyone wants to go! Yeah! Who's down? Contact us! Let's collaborate and grow as a community!
// PHOTO-WALK ALERT! \\
HUMANS IN MOTION PHOTO-WALK
Our first official photo-walk is here! MIA Shooters has partnered up with Miami Visuals Group to bring you an exciting and meaningful shooting experience! Join us Friday, March 16th, at 4:00PM at the Government Center Station along with featured photographers @dirtylen5, @zo_shots, and @zaksgrid, who will be guiding you throughout the walk.
THE AIM & CHALLENGE
We, as Miamians, know how terrible our traffic is - partly due to the poorly developed public transit systems which are currently in place. Although photographers are incredibly amazing people, we may not be able to solve this issue on our own; however, we can, through photography, expose the nature and conditions of our public transit and how people interact with it. Our aim is to create a conversation about how Miamians interact with the public transit system, through photography, in hopes of raising awareness and inspiring change and growth.
THINGS TO CONSIDER
In order to get these shots we will most likely have to go into businesses, and most don't like that you do that without buying something - so keep in mind you might get kicked out! Bring some friends along to use as subjects - or invite your model friends if you have any! We will be walking a lot outdoors so bring good shoes, and should there be a typical Miami 5-minute rain shower, bring an umbrella! See you all there!
